School Closure

Please visit our home learning gallery where you will see images of our home learning.

Dear Parents,

Thank you so much for the overwhelmingly positive messages of support for the school in the light of making the difficult decision to close.

To confirm - tomorrow will be the last day of school before the Easter Holidays.

We are in the process of making packs of resources to send home today; these will consist of paper, an exercise book, some coloured pencils and felt tip pens, and a writing pencil. Any parent whose child is already absent can either pick up a pack tonight or tomorrow from the office or ask another parent to pick it up on their behalf.

Please click on the links below to access a list of useful educational websites for all children covering a range of subjects and topics. We have also put together a list of websites aimed specifically at children in Year 2, Year 1 and Reception, also attached.

As I write this, we wait to see whether the government follows the decision we have already made at Ramsgate Holy Trinity. I will give more details to you tomorrow as to how we will continue to provide learning opportunities for your child during school closure in the following week or weeks - outlining our approach depending on the government's decisions for all schools.

As we have had only about half of our children in school today, we have spent much of the day outside, enjoying the sunshine. I can assure you that the children have remained bright and in good spirits, which is a testament to their character in these difficult times.

We will make sure that tomorrow is just as enjoyable for them,

Our staffing situation remains very difficult with significant numbers of teaching and support staff not being able to work in school either through showing symptoms of the Coronavirus or because they have, or family members have, underlying health conditions.  As the guidance now states that households have to isolate for 14 days, the situation at school is only going to become more and more difficult. Therefore we have taken the decision to close Ramsgate Holy Trinity; Thursday the 19th will be our last day before the Easter holidays. This is not a decision that we have taken lightly, but we feel that it is in the best interests of our children, staff and community. Tomorrow, staff will be preparing some resources for children to take home with them on Thursday, and arrangements will be made for learning activities to be placed on our website for each year group each week. Although this is the decision that we have made for Holy Trinity, we understand that it is also the decision being made in schools up and down the country.

Whilst we are open, we will keep up our daily communication; and once closed, we will ensure that there is regular and clear communication with you as to what the future holds.
